Default 2015 ES300h engine noise question

Hello all. I have a question regarding my 2015 ES300h's engine noise.....Does anyone else find their engine a bit noisy? I recently purchased a 15 from a local dealership and absolutely love the car. It has 26k, was a one owner who had it dealer maintained for everything before coming into my driveway. It has plenty of power, drives great but man, for a 4 cylinder engine, it does seem noisy to me.
Am I expecting too much from Lexus or is this normal? (Oil level is full and very clean)

Thanks in advance!

Mine is only noisy under heavy acceleration. In all other instances under normal driving, it's really quiet.

I agree. Our 2015 ESh is the same. A little loud only under hard acceleration.

You are right. the 4 cylinder engine of the 300h is a bit noisy. I did notice this since I bought it new, but it is normal for this engine. It is more noticeable when the car is stopped and engine is running especially if the window is open. and also under heavy acceleration and high RPM.

Thank you all for the replies. I should have specified that I find it noisy while it is idling and I'm outside the vehicle. No clanging/pinging....just a noisier idle than I expected from Lexus/Toyota. Thanks for putting my concerns to rest.
Love This Car!!

"Speed doesn't kill, difference in speed kills" Our experience with both a 2014 ESh and a 2018 ESh
boils down to the difference between the nearly silent glide path when driving moderately and the
"normal" amount of IC engine noise when driving energetically. A conventional car is generating
noise from the belts whirring, the alternator humming, the coolant circulating, the exhaust droning
all the time. The noise only of the intake airflow and the exhaust increase when you punch it.
Our hybrids are doing none of that until suddenly you get all of it (except the belts and alternator BTW).

Noisier idle because it's running at a higher rpm to charge the battery, usually at 1000 to 1200 rpm. The big 2.5 liter four is also a bit more rattly than the smooth turbine idle of the V6.
