lower control arm info needed
Hi am in progress of changing my lower control arms I have took off 2 motor mt 1 trans mt and front mount nut and have jacked up engine trans so side mount studs are off and free . The 1 nut is removed that holds the mount to the engine and trans bracket on the side mts but the mount is still attached the the engine bracket I have tried to remove the mount completely but it is really attached to this bracket . Tried using air hammer with chisel , spray lube .
Its not threaded in is it ? How do you get the side motor mounts off the brackets?

You didn't have engine jacked high enough. I did all engine mounts on my Highlander, which is basically same car, and I had to jack it so high, it hit cowl. But you should have been able to remove control arm then without removing mounts. What holds engine in place is dog bone in the upper right corner. It needs to be disconnected on one end.

Thanks for replying I do believe on the 400 h you have to take off the side engine mounts because one bolt on the control arm is directlyu underneath it on both side

update on the car. 2007 Lexus RX 400 H Had ordered motor mounts but they turned out to be wrong so Installed same parts
. After changing lower control arm complete with new bushings and new wheel bearings spindles and lower ball joints and replaced both driveshafts The center support bearing was completely frozen and even the snap ring that holds the bearing in was rusted solid. There was no way to remove after using torch, slide hammer and regular hammer and penetrating oil so ended up cutting driveshaft between support bearing and transmission with plasma cutter and was then able to remove shaft from trans and was able to remove bolts holding support bearing and was able to remove from car. Was able to remove bearing from support on press and when it finally let go it was like a shotgun going off. Why dont they use antiseze???
Struts on this car were replaced last year.
After all these parts installed the steering wheel was turned about 30 Degrees from center
Got a 4 wheel alignment and now all is good.
With the new tires It feels like a new car!!
