what does yours look like?
i was at a friends garage who is a mechanic today. he was sitting in a car doing a obd test and was at close to the level of my rear tire. as he was scanning his vehicle , he looked at my rears and noticed how rusted/unused my rotors looked. he asked me how my brakes were and ,not knowing how they looked, i said fine. he then took me over to them and showed me why he was asking. i was astonished! boy, did they ever look bad. there was rust on the surface where pads would contact, where you would think none should be. after i was remembering that i had read how hybrid brakes had been reported to 'last forever' because of the way the system is designed. so i thought i would ask similar hybrid owners if their rotors look like they are unused. i should say that my brakes feel solid and i activated my abs at a stop sign on my way home just to see for myself. if any/all of you could provide a pic of your rotors through the rims that would be much appreciated.

You being in the Winter/salt area of the world I am not surprised. I have seen pictures over the years of RX cars that live in that environment. They for the most part are rusted and corroaded. Here in California, cars look like new....

we were in cali for 3 weeks at the end of jan/feb and you guys had more snow than us! as we left you then got hit with all that rain but salt doesn't corrode the rotors to any great extent.alli was asking was if the rears get any use at all or do they go rusty' because of the system regenning?
