Default 2010 rx450h light bar

hello 2 months ago I installed an led light bar I tapped is to the fuse box to get power as I turned the lights on my rx motherboard got fried and the car went dead cost 2000 to fix at lexus ,I still want to install it again this time I was thinking of running an independent line from the battery straight to the light so I don't fry anything again any feedback is appreciated.
thanks

Which motherboard?

What is the max current draw for the bar and how do you intend to turn it on/off?

Based on your answer, we may need a relay.

Before you set your car on fire, maybe this task is best left off to professionals. Take it to an audio shop and let them do it for you.

Maybe it's just the lighting angle, but your condenser looks like it could use a good cleaning.

I still can't understand how it would burn down the ? computer.

If you want to risk it again here is the proverbial rope:

Battery + terminal ---> fuse ---> relay secondary term --> relay secondary other contact ---> + of the light bar ---> ground of light bar --> chassis.

switched +12v line ---> primary side of relay --> primary other terminal --> chassis [be careful and dont short out the switched +12v ... specially if it comes from the motherboard

The other question would be, what is the purpose of a light bar on a vehicle that will never go offroad?
These may not be exactly legal for road use.
