Any one done brake pad change on the new shape RX 450 h 2016 model
Hi wanted to find out if the front pads are a standard change on this model and is it a piston wind back for rear pads or back to a plug in on OSB to change the rears can any one shed any light on this

Are you already at a point of needing to replace pads, or is this just a preemptive planning effort? I don't have answers for you, but knowing the "urgency" may help others respond more effectively in terms of your time schedule.

I have not done it on 3rd gen, but typically Lexus has straight push back pistons.
Another issue that is discussed here often is, do you need the brake controller to bleed/push back. Again my gut call is not essential but can help.
I really need to get hold of service manual.

I replaced both front and rear pads and rotors. It was as routine as it gets, other than one of rear drums (e-brake) getting stuck until I rotated the inside sprocket to release the shoes. Did not do the bleeding at the time.
Can't comment on the 4RX generation, but I wouldn't expect it be much different.

If all you're doing is compressing the pistons and not opening the hydraulic system for potential air entrainment, no bleeding is required, nor is there any need for additional equipment... just make sure that there is room in the brake fluid reservoir to hold the volume displaced by compressing the pistons back into the caliper housing so you can avoid any potential overflow of the brake fluid reservoir. Brake fluid is quite aggressive, and it can damage (and sometimes remove) the paint off of whatever it contacts.
