I recommend Lexus brake pads. Aftermarket are good, but some manufacturer used hard compound and it will be hard on your rotors.

Hint: Lexus brake pads for the 2001 RX have cutted groove designed on one corner of the pads. Make sure the cutted part is facing up.

Lexus replacement front pads do not have wear indicators, instead they are integrated with front shims. This means you better use shims that came with your car forever.
Semi metallic pad dusts are corrosive, my RX's silver rims got those aluminum bubbles forming under the clear paint. Dealer said OEM pads is to blame and of course said Lexus won't cover wheels.
I have Akebono Ceramic Pads, not a single squeak after 6 months, less dust and better stopping.
