Default Possible Issues with Orange HV Cables

Purchased my '06 RX400h back in June and it's been fantastic. Just recently I was changing the fluid in the CVT and rear diff when I saw the orange covering for the hybrid battery cables seemingly fraying at the connection to the rear motor. I just wanted to see if anyone saw anything similar and if this is unusual or just how the ends of the cables are supposed to look. Thanks!

Someone else posted that same issue about 2 years ago...Your rust belt states are hard on the undercarriage of vehicles. I cant remember what he did, but I would take a soft bristled brush (not wire) and gently brush that area. I don't know if WD 40 would be good or bad for stopping that issue, but the wires underneath would be my concern. Maybe spray some silicone spray on it, and see if the corrosion stops. Please be careful as the voltages can approach 400vdc.
