Nice looking hitch cover. I had not seen it before.

I'm happy with the black plastic cover that came with my hitch. I've had problems at least twice with the cover being stolen from my 1999 4Runner, so I'd rather not draw undue attention to a shiny Lexus cover. Same goes for logoed wheel valve caps.

If I do lose a hitch cover, I buy the replacement on-line. Amazon shows one right now for $13.95. Not sure what the dealer charges, but I suspect much more than $13.95.

I fully understand. However, I use a stainless steel locking pin that locks the hitch cover in place when not towing & when I am towing, it locks my ball hitch into the receiver & requires a key to remove it.

What's the difference in the bumpers between and F Sport and a regular RX that would effect a trailer hitch?

Anyone installed the tow wire harness? What is the harness part number? Toyota? Where is the location of the plug?
Please share any DIY photos.

Here is the dealer installed factory hitch and wiring on my 2016 RX450h F Sport. As you can see, the technician hacked the valence panel for clearance around the wiring plug, but it's only visible if you get under the rear bumper; it's otherwise not visible or noticeable. The p/n for the hitch is PT228-48160 and according to the Parts Counter, included the wiring harness. The 450h F Sport also required a different lower bumper cover p/n 52108-0E060 "Extension Sub-Assy". This part appears as if the technician hacked it as well, but in looking at the same car with factory-installed hitch (model year 2017), Lexus just did a poor job in designing the lower bumper cover. The part looks like a hack-job done with utility knife.

Thanks for the reply! I brought the Curt hitch receiver already so I just need the harness and the plug location. Plan to install at the same time.

Just purchased one on ebay: "CURT Vehicle-to-Trailer Connector #56083" fits 2010-2016 Lexus RX350, RX450h $15.52

Plug is located in rear - left/driver side behind the bumper. My car was not manufactured with a tow package! Problem is, there is no voltage to the plug? checked fuse box - 30 amp slot is there for towing but there is no metal contact for the fuse to slide in?

Part Curt 56083. Confirmed this wire harness is a "plug n play" for 2016- RX450h with tow package. There is a plug on the driver side rear, can't miss it. The curt tow receiver is a high quality and good fit piece. Only need to trim the bottom panel with a simple knife. I couldn't buy the Lexus harness by itself.

If you don't have the tow package but still want to wire up then get the other harness kit with the module for the non-tow package. Watch out for the tow limit.

I think all the 450h units have the towing package, you just need to get the hitch and wiring harness installed.

If it does not have the tow package I would not recommend it.

Thank you for quick response. My current lexus do not have towing package and dealer promised that they will install it for me separately, I just want to make sure it is possible and will cover warranty
