Slow Battery Drain
Hey guys,
I have an 07 GS450h and seem to have a slow battery drain. I thought my battery was going at first so I replaced the battery with an optima yellow top. Battery is still draining. 90% of the time i only drive on weekends. Rest of the time she sits in the garage. I've noticed that the car wont start somewhere after 4-5days of sitting. Any ideas as to what might be draining my batteries?

I got the model number from some other posts here and ordered it on amazon: Optima 8040-218-FFP YellowTop Group 35 Deep Cycle Battery
Damn. It started with my stock Panasonic battery dying all the time. Then I got the Optima. It last a few weeks without dying, then started the same symptoms as the Panasonic. Guess i'll have to try another battery. Which interstate battery model did you get?

I haven't buy the battery, I used my friend battery to test it (its been 2 weeks)make sure its the battery problem.
And since my suspicion is confirmed, I'm going to get the battery this week..I'll let you know the model# as soon i get it.

went to Interstate warehouse, they said they not sell battery for GS hybrid, its said "Dealer only" on their catalog.
what they explained to me that the hybrid 12v battery is diff then regular battery, it has heat exchange chamber.
its need heat exchange chamber because the inverter will keep charging at constant volt (14.1V) not like regular alternator, its depend on the RPM ......I guess I have to buy the OEM battery...

Yes, regular battery will work fine (I used my friend battery almost a mo), but there is a change the battery going to overheat. its also the reason hybrid car has temperature sensor on the battery
Gotcha! I just purchased an Interstate battery #3 from costco. I saw that someone else had used the same and am hoping for the same results. We'll see in the next month how well it holds up. Thanks!
