Our 2016 NX-300h has a noisemaker that you can hear outside the car. I believe it only operates at speeds up to 25 or 35 MPH and is designed to help with ADA compliance for the blind. My wife said it is really annoying. Anyone find a way to turn the volume down a bit or just unplug it? Not necessarily trying to defeat the compliance but don't like the weird looks it attracts either.

Any thoughts?

I personally nearly got hit by a Prius before because I couldn't hear it. My Australian NX 300h doesn't have this noise thing but for US models, if you search on YouTube, there are a lot of videos showing you how to unplug it. I'm not sure if there is a NX one, but it should be similar to the Toyota ones.
