Default LS600hL on autopilot

Been experimenting on this for a while now, but never really shared video before. First video demonstrate behavior in a few curves, second was took a while ago this summer showing that the system work quite well for an extended period of time in the right conditions. *Click "watch on Youtube" to enable fullscreen

Your car really wants to make sure it's about to enter the other lane before it corrects.

Is this just Lane Keep Assist working together with Radar Cruise Control? I'm in the market for an older LS460 and haven't seen a single one with LKA. Was it an option on the US models? Did it start in 2007 or later? Or was it only available on the 600h?

I thought that LKA wasn't available until the 2010 model year and that it needed at least some resistance applied to the steering wheel to keep working. Is this a retrofitted LKA on an 08/09 or are you developing your own "auto pilot" system? Looks great for straight line driving, but I'd be a little afraid in the turns.

On a slightly separate note, I can't tell but are you running an aftermarket audio system. The NAV screen looks a bit different.

Default You can read more abouth the LKA button on pre 2010 LS's here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ing-wheel.html

Vansiblel: Have You done anything to the car to get it going on autopilot for that long...or is it just that the roads You have there are so straight (and that is something never seen in Norway) ? :-)
and I have never even thought of trying that when I have been in DK, DE or France....

...and thanks for the info on the entertainment system You have...I think it's a bit outside my technical limits...but maybe I can get some help from You

Regards
Arvid

There was an old thread where this same member had defeated the requirement for the 5 sec resistance rule. I don't remember exactly what he did, but he had removed the post explaining how to do it 3 hours after he posted. I am assuming he still uses this method.

Yes my car is retrofitted with LKA as Arvid pointed out. As far as I know it was only available in the US since 2010 (since 2007 in europe and only on non-hybrid model as the LED headlight impaired the system during night if I recall correctly - I can confirm on my car that the system does not work during night, but I think the problem was solved on 2010+ hybrid with led lighting). Interestingly enough the Prius could also have this option by that year so I'm guessing this kind of feat would also be possible in that car too (as long as the 5 sec limit is defeated). I also think that it would also be possible to remove the turning radius limit through CAN bus hacking, of lit up the LKA light (if you look closely on your instrument panel you can see the LKA icon even if your car don't have it). FYI Ascari_2 I'm using an android stick plugged into an iVic-5dr with Digital Car front end for android.
