I own a 2008 RX400h Mark Levinson. In the past couple of days I noticed that from time to time my right hand side dash speaker stops working for a short period of time: it is okay, but than suddenly it just remains silent for about 1-2 seconds, than the sound comes back again...
What I tried is that on the controll panel I put all sound to the right hand side to check what I hear: It was clear that it is only the dash speaker that stops working, all other seem to be okay.
I also tried the dsl (or dls?) options and mess around with audio settings, but this did not change anything. Now it seems that the problem does not appear on every journey, today it seemed okay, altough I only had a short journey with the car.
I am not sure what the reason of this problem is. How can a speaker stop working for 2 seconds and than be back to normal? Do you think it is the speaker or maybe the amplifier (I hope not)?
The problem is quite disturbing by the way as it ruins your whole ML hi-fi experience...
Today morning and yesterday evening the speaker worked just fine. I do not understand, however I am OK with it as long as it works.
Do you guys know where the amplifier is located in the 400h? Can I swap the right and left hand channels easily? (Of course I will do this only if the problem comes back...)
The ML amp is in the back under the tool tray. But maybe you have a loose connection at the speaker, amp, or radio unit. I don't think you can swap channels as the connectors are usually keyed with all wires in one connector. See the attached wiring diagram for the ML system.

Thanks. I hope its just a loose connection at the speaker. I will try to check the speaker this weekend, hope it is not that difficult to access.
