It's hot in the Uk at the moment (well hot for us) and I have been using the aircon quite a bit.As a Hybrid Newbie I am paranoid about battery usage and am turning the aircon of at traffic lights or when tHe car is standing in quewing traffic. Is this vaild Paranoia or will the Ice cut in and out or is turning it off a sensible move.
I am liking the car more and more as the miles start to go on but after 37 years of either petrol or diesels I am still getting used to the Hybrid and gaining confidence in what to do and what not to do.

Not as hot and humid as it is in Houston. No need to turn it off and on even here.

By definition paranoia is irrational. I don't see "valid" and "sensible" as being relevant to paranoia so I'm not sure how to answer your question.

In the Uk it has been our hottest day of the year today 30 degrees and the government have issued a health warning due tomthe heat. Guess in Texas its overcoat weather
I find it great to be sitting at a light, the motor off and the a/c kicking out cold air. No need to shut it off, set the climate control, push auto and enjoy the cool. I do notice a slight decrease in fuel economy during the summer months with the a/c on, but cool wins over mileage.
Guess its one of the most important features on your car in Arizona.
Must say you get to rely on lifes little luxuries. Three things on a car I would miss and did not have when I fist started driving Power Steering,Autobox,Aircon.
