My wife went to leave this morning and came back in saying the car would not start. When you press the brake pedal and push the start button, the brake and ABS system symbols would flash. I rocked the car back and forth a little bit to move the wheels and then the car started normally. Not sure if rocking the car made any difference, or it was just a systems glitch. If it does it again I will take it to the dealer. Car is 2 months old with maybe 1000 miles total. Had anyone else had a similar problem?

 

Could be weak battery (not hybrid battery, but "regular battery_) -not enough juice to crank the engine

 

The 12V battery does not crank the engine, the hybrid battery is used to spin up the engine, but that doesn't sound like the issue here. I'm wondering if it was just the shifter position was a bit out, and your rocking maybe reset it.

 

ABS and solution was rocking the car - suggest having Lexus check it out for faulty wheel sensors. In any case, it should be looked at b/c having to do with the ABS.

 

The car has been fine since the one occurrence. So unless it does it again I am not worrying about it.

 

This happened to me once, and I attributed it to having my wife's CT200 keys on me at the same time - the car must have been 'confused' as to which key to detect...
