Default clunking noise in engine bay on cold start

I thought I'd ask here first before I contact the dealer
This weird noise started on a very cold morning last week...yeah we actually had an inch of snow/sleet thingy down here in Texas~

It sounded like a metal clunking/tapping noise, with a lot of engine vibration. It didn't bother me at the time as the noise went away when engine was warmed up, however the same noise would return every morning on a cold start ever since.

Its mostly audible when outside of the car. There is no weird noise while driving or on other start ups during the rest of the day.

Has any of the 450h owners in cold region had similar experience?

Our Gen III RX 450h models and the 350's too have a new engine family. Gone are the traditional belts that drive the overhead cams. Now you have the thinner 0w20w (very good) synthetic oil and internal cam 'chains' such as high performance Porsche engines have. Because they're chains you'll hear more on really cold mornings. The upside is very high dependability plus less maintenance cost. You will never have to replace that belt again .

And as you noticed, the noise goes away very quickly.

Enjoy your car
