Put original MASTER key into ignition, plug in the Smart Keymaker to the OBDII port under the steering wheel, Turn ignition to ON, Don't crank. Wait a few seconds you will hear a bunch of Beeps and then a LONG beep that last for a few seconds. After that, turn the ignition to off and remove the MASTER key. Stick in the NEW key and turn to ON, just wait a few seconds. It should have programmed and you should be able to crank the engine on after that. At least that's how it worked for me.
afaik, can you tell what type of key is produced by this keymaker? Is it MASTER or SLAVE (valet) ?

It appears to function just like the master key I have.

Damn! An ability to create Slave keys is a must-have option for me...

Can this be used if you ONLY have the valet key? Looking for new key solution for 01 LS30.

Default How many keys can Toyota Smart key maker can program

Is there a limit on this smart key maker that how many keys can it program, or it can program any number of keys. I was wondering to buy it and use it to make happy my close family members and friends (my close circle family and friends have at least 10 Lexus cars and SUV's)

Glad I found this thread. I am in need of making 2 keys from my RX and this would save me about $250 that the dealer wants for programming the keys.
Where did you buy the smart key maker from?
I am going to look on eBay shortly.
TIA

Found a few sellers on eBay. Anything in particular I need to buy or does the same one work on all Lexus/toyota vehicles?

Has anyone ever programmed a key when you have lost all of your keys?

Trying to get this to work on my 2006 IS350 with used ebay keys.
When I put the remote up the the start button, I can't get it to
beep 2x only. I either pull it way too soon, and it beeps once, or I hold it for
a fraction of a second too long and it beeps 3x. GRRRRR.

I'm also aware of 09 and newer remotes not working on 06-08 cars because
once they're programmed the have to be deprogrammed to work.

My next step might have to involve buying a brand new key and trying it out

Post Anyone try the Smart Keymaker on a 2006 GS?

I've got a 2006 GS300. I understand they changed the way smart keys work in 2006 on the GS. Has anyone tried the Toyota Smart Keymaker on a 2006-2008 GS?

Thanks.

Al

I know this is an old thread, but with the key maker your car can get stuck in enrolment mode.this means security light will stay on, or behave weird. car may or may not start.
Disconnecting battery will not work.
Remove key maker from obd2. Put a working key (which works with immobiliser )in ignition, cycle on - off 5 times in 10 seconds to reset security. Exit car, lock and unlock with remote.
Otherwise, thanks for the info, you saved me loads of cash.
My Car= uk rx300 2003 (1st of type 2 rx)

Ps - the bits below May or May not apply to USA vehicles.
Ive seen people asking if the keymaker makes a master or valet key.
There is no difference electronically.
The master key has a line cut into the edge of the blade ( when looking at the narrowest edges of the blade. )The valet keys have no cut. So won't work the glovebox.
So you need to look at the key you buy.

// this is what the locksmith told me.

Ps the eBay cloned 3 button remotes work with the keymaker.
I tried a 2 button remote (a used one) from a 2003 Toyota mr2 vvti and it wouldnt register.
I don't know how to wipe preused keys.

The open door/ close door etc. bit is very demanding. The first 10 times the locks did not cycle themselves. Chill out and take your time. The timing is everything.
