Default LS600hL Intelligent Park Assist!!

Does anyone have any information on the Intelligent Park Assist System? I'm doing a project on the technology and I figured clublexus would be the first place I'd try to find information. Any help is welcome.

THANK YOU

There is some basic information on this article here, with some sources:

Intelligent_Parking_Assist_System

The ScienceLinks article referenced there has the engineers' info, but it is only an abstract.

Default This is version 1. Maybe version 3.5 will be useful.

In my experience, the problems are:

1. It successfully identifies a parking space only about 10% of the time. This is the major problem.
2. I can park much faster myself.
3. While parking it's overly fussy about your speed.
4. Since it won't use the accelerator, it won't park on an incline.

Having said all this, when you HAVE identified a parking space, and you modulate the speed correctly, and your selected spot isn't uphill, it's flawless.

I understand that MB has implemented Park Assist and has overcome item 4.

Very well summarized. My major issue is 2. It is so slow that I cannot use it in any situation where there is any traffic. Also it will not fit in really small spaces (where I can go back and forth a few times to fit into the space.) It does work - I have parked on side streets with no traffic or in a shopping center using the perpendicular parking. However, that was just to make sure it works. I guess it would help people who are really challenged in doing parallel parking.
