Question Question on ordering a 2010 RX450H

For people who have ordered RX450H or the RX350, did you get much discounts?

I'm considering ordering a RX450H AWD with premium, LED headlights, and rear entertainment (NO navigation). The dealer said they usually don't give much discounts but they have to check first to see if what I want is possible.

Phu, here is a link from the 3rd gen hybrid forum:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...0-pricing.html

Judging from what you want in the 450h, it will have to be a special order with 3-4 month ETA. They are not really discounting the special orders too much right now. But I did manage to get a few bucks off on mine. The better deal is going to be on the 450hs at the dealer. This also holds true for the 350 where you'll get a much bigger discount. Good luck.

I just took delivery of my 450h. My dealer said that the factory is sending these fairly well loaded... based upon customer input of typical items ordered on the car. I found that to be true. Mine came with many options that I find valuable.

I also considered doing a special order (without Nav), but the dealer strongly recommended against it....due to resale value, as well as other miscellaneous perks with that package. I agreed.

The dealer checked all "inbound" vehicles to the West Coast and found exactly what I wanted. Maybe I was lucky, but he said cash deposits talk when vehicles hit the port. They then direct the car to who has made a commitment (refund available if car not acceptable). Not much in the way of discount on these vehicles. They are just too popular and supply is limited. Hope that helps.

Apparently none of the dealers in MA can order a RX450H that has the options I want

I had to go the special order route to get exactly what I wanted. On the upside, it will be totally custom. The downside is I have to wait months. They are definitely skimpy on the options in the northeast

I actually don't mind the wait...but they keep asking me to add things I don't want such as the NAV...I can't believe it's that difficult to do a special order.

Oh well...maybe I just have to get one from their lots but the thing is we love the LED headlights and none of the RX450H here has LED headlights. Weird....

My dealer gets a few without NAV but again, they're pretty standard builds. Re the LEDs, I love them too and they're on my special order list. I think it's funny the RX450h has them in the brochure but the dealers aren't stocking any with LEDs around here. I have yet to see them up close and personal.

May I ask what other options you have to pick to get LED when you special order yours?

LEDs are included in the luxury package. But if you don't want all of that, you can order it as a standalone option. In my special order, one of the packages I chose is comfort which comes with bi-xenon headlights. Since I am getting the LEDs, the cost of the bi-xenons were deducted from the package.

I feel for you Phu. It's almost as if here in the NorthEast the dealers simply don't want to deal with anyone wanting to special order. I too wanted the LED's along with the laser cruise control but I was told neither was available as they aren't packaged this way for our region. They really make it seem as though it's impossible but after reading other posts it seems as though I should have held my ground as some appear to be ordering just what they want. My advice would be to hold out, if you can, and get exactly what you want. This should be obvious and simple when spending over 50k on a car. It's a shame dealers make this so difficult. Good luck to you and Kudos to Anita for sticking to your guns (I've been following your other post regarding this issue).

Honestly, my dealer didn't have any issues with my special order. So I'm not sure why other dealers are trying to discourage people. They'll get their price.

for the record--I worked with 5 dealers initially--only one special ordered the car who got the sale. The others would not special order. Customer service.

Excellent point Hal... and the dealership who was agreeable SHOULD be the one to get the sale. Yes, Anita... I wish we had such trouble-free experiences here in CT. After all, this is a Lexus we're talking about and customer service is supposed to be something we can count on!

Well...it looks like none of the dealers here wants to special order the car for me. They all say it may take 6 months and that even if the order is accepted initially, 2 or 3 months later it may be rejected....There are RX450H on their lots but none has LEDs...and my wife insists that no LEDs, no RX

search around--call a dealer out of state--dealers do take orders-you just need to find them--then you get the car w/o options you do not need.

you will not get a big discount if you special order but you get what you want.
