RX450h Arrival?
#2
I am almost positive it will be in June. They are being built in May. I suppose it's possible, that a few could get to the dealerships as early as late May, but for the most part it will be June. As I stated before on other threads, the one we special ordered will likely arrive by late June.

Either the dealers you talked to are not telling you the truth or more likely they do not realize that the 450h can indeed be special ordered. Maybe they think that since there is no pricing released yet, you cannot order it. My dealer sent the order to the regional headquarters (Chicago I think) back in early March and then Tokyo confirmed the first of April that it was accepted.

I was given a July 20 estimated delivery date when I ordered mine at the end of February. Don't remember the precise date, but the European order books opened a week before the Geneva auto show which started about March 5th.

Spoke with dealer today--first 450h's will be at dealers about 3rd week of June--special orders into late july early august.
He said first ones will be essentially fully optioned--rear entertainment, luxury pkg, levenson radio, hud, accident avoidance and towing. everything but sports pkg.
So if thats the way they show up sticker will be around 60 -which means a big gulp and I wonder if, even with a discount, how fast these will fly off the showroom floors.

Got an email from my dealer this week saying that the 450h would be available at the end of the month (May) here in Oregon. I'd be very interested in hearing about sightings at dealers and what packages are being put on the early shipments.

My dealer told me premium and comfort pkgs, nav and entertainment--plus the floor and cargo mats.
did your dealer indicate if he would "deal" on the first few coming in? Based on the 350 it took all of 2 months before they started discounting and the economy has deteriorated further.

Delivery times still questionable
Hi folks, my current Lexus is a bullet proof 2003 RX FWD 60,000 miles young and my friends say I'm crazy for dropping this kind of money on a new one but I like toys and it's time to help the economy I guess.
Anyway my local dealers (several in Atlanta region) have nothing positive to say as far as what they have coming or when as of today. I read in a post above that some in Oregon may be getting theirs as soon as the end of this month??? If anyone has anything definite to post please do.
The auto channel.com review was a pretty good one, much better than Edmonds that seemed somewhat biased away from Lexus. Their problem.
I'm retired from the retail end of automobiles (18 years) and the USN now and thinking this car may last me 10 years. I said that about the '03 and it's certainly capable but ..... I'm a gadget freak and thinking that it might be a good move considering the current and predictable economic climate. Plus if I don't spend some of what I've spent decades nurturing for this period in my life then why did I do it?
I'm with USAA insurance company and that gives me an edge on pricing. So trying to decide if I want to sell the '03 myself or trade it. Here in GA you only pay tax on the difference so that takes out some of the pain of 'trade in' value.
Ok, I got diarrhea of the key board so if anyone has firm delivery info please post and let us know
Thanks
