Congrats on your new ride! The retail price of his fully optioned (super luxury version as he has the front parking sensors) costs USD128,500 but I believe he paid about USD115,000 for the car after discounts. Lexus hybrids in Singapore are priced very reasonably (except the LS) as we have a tax rebate for hybrid cars so a similarly loaded GS300 (yes, 300) costs only USD7,900 less and its 245hp vs 292hp so obviously the greener and more powerful hybrid is the better choice except for the compromise of the smaller boot.
The Audi A6 3.0T is expensive and not worth it at about USD157,000, even a LS460 only cost slightly more than that!

Hahah. But then again, if our hybrid battery isnt fully charged, we will only run on 292hp!

The 450h puts out 339hp when working together with the electric engine! NOT 292hp (:

Well I find the Dunlops lacking grip.
Especially in the wet, these tires aquaplane quite a bit. Not to mention the amount of wheel spin when you floor it. I have driven many RWD vehicle, and somehow, the GS450h seems to get tail happy quite easily.
Michelin PS2s IMO are one of the best tires out there. They are extremely quiet, provide tremendous amounts of grip, and are very durable.
Go try a set out. You wont look back at the much cheaper dunlops!

I would attribute part of the tail happiness to the huge amounts of torque put out at 0 RPM from the electric motors. I found a website that calculated it and found that it produces a peak of 441 lb-ft, which is quite impressive! No wonder it is so much fun to drive. I do find though that VDIM does an excellent job of reigning it in. Never even notice except for the little flashing light... I haven't been brave enough to turn it off yet.

I don't know, and I'm too lazy to find out what is avg temp in Singapur, but if it drops below 50F get prepared for strange noises coming from the dashboard...
Your friend in A6 probably caught gs450h in the standard mode. Once you flip that thing to the sport it becomes totally different car. 2008+ models are reported 5.2s 0-60, and earlier models 5.7s. I don't really know what the difference in later models is, but I'm guessing it has to do with new tranny software...
