Well, I just installed the unit today. Man, was it a pain in the butt to install. I had to take apart all of the center console plus these two hard to reach bolts to hold on the stereo head unit. I'll post some pictures soon.

Tell me about it. I dropped 2 of the bolts as I removed them, never to be seen again. Guess I should invest in a magnetic ratchet set. I'm just grateful that they aren't rattling around the console.

A magnetic ratchet set is probably a good investment. I know I should have bought a set. The navigation wasn't that hard to remove it was only two 10mm bolts. I tested the video and the quality wasn't that bad. Did you have to remove a plug to plug the blue vais plug to the back of the nav screen?

I installed the XM unit from Vaistech, so I didn't have to touch the NAV screen. Just had to remove the stereo head unit. The real fun part was running the antenna cord from the rear to the front of the vehicle.

Default So was it worth it?

So, LEXveryG8 was it worth the trouble? I am very close to ordering the SL2Vi and don't know if I want to risk taking the center console apart. Sounds like you had some trouble?

How is the interface working for you?

Well, honestly I do think it's worth it. At first it was pain, but you learn from what you do. That's what I like about DIY, they teach stuff here and there. But the unit is not bad. Coming from the cassette players to this vais unit is a big improvement in sound quality. I can't stress how good of sound quality it has compared to the cassette player.(Obviously) The video quality is not bad either although I only had a few video clips on my ipod and I honestly haven't tested my other hi-def movies yet. I'm loading the images on my computer right now so shortly you will see what it looks like.

Well, I finally got them loaded. You guys are going to have to bear with me for the crappy quality. I took them with my phone. I didn't take that my shots because I was too busy figuring out what to do next.
