Is it still the case that if you try to start a 400h 3x that has no gas, then you need to get a "special" Lexus charge? Also, how long can the 400h be left without starting it before there is a problem?

 

I don't know about the three starts but I did run out of gas once. It continued to run for about 1.5 miles gradually slowing down until I pulled into a parking place at about 5 mph. Walked a few blocks to get gas and filled with two gallons. It started right up and had just one bar of charge showing. By the time I drove to the station and filled up (kept it running), the charge meter showed three bars. Back to normal. When I ran out of gas however, there were red and orange warning lights lite up on the dash and a warning that the high voltage system could be damged. When I started it with gas in it the warning lights went off.
