rx 350 vs rx 400h
RX350
Pros:
- New 3.5 litre V6 engine
- familiar automatic transmission
- lighter
- lower base price (with lower standard equipment)
Cons:
- fuel economy
- more maintenance cost (brake pads for example)
RX400h
Pros:
- fuel economy
- acceleration on par with RX350 (it's powerful)
- super ultra low emissions
- may qualify for tax breaks (e.g. EcoAuto for a 2008 model)
- smooth ride with its CVT transmission
- may cost less to insure
- EV driving
Cons:
- higher base price (with higher standard equipment)
- only two models. Loaded and ultra premium
- no push button start or SmartAccess system
- don't know if it'll get an updated HSD system next year

aka Smart Key System.
It's the proximity entry system where you touch the door handles to unlock the vehicle and press the black button to lock the vehicle. You can also start/stop the car without a key.
