When will you be trading the Lexus in for a Buick? ...
My insurance company actually offers a discount BECAUSE I'm driving a hybrid. There are also discounts for having winter tires and parking the vehicle in the garage at home. Not huge discounts, but still nice.

I'm an old guy and my insurance is $600 per year with all the extra stuff I wanted, un-insured, under insured, full glass, rental and $500 deductible in Arizona. Actually less than my Jeep Liberty was for the same coverage.

You went from a 2000 to a 2007 and a hybrid to boot, of course your insurance willl sky rocket!.
An ugly little truth about hybrids is that they cost a bunch more to fix if you get into an accident with powertrain damage (invertor and battery pack) so they cost more to insure beyond their being more expensive to buy/replace than straight gas equivilent. I pay $100 more a year for our RX400h than I would for a same year RX350.
I like the thing more than I liked our (beloved) RX330, but economically, it makes next to zero sense vs. an RX350 that would cost less to buy/insure and get the same highway mileage...unless you do a LOT of city miles, then the 25 mpg vs. 18 mpg might, eventually, add up. I'd still have bought it, though...I think.

thanks guys! will be doing that very soon to fix the headlight... also, i have a question about insurance... did anyone else's insurance sky rocket with the purchase of their RX400h? or is it just pronounced because i am still considered a "young driver"... it went up by more than $50 per month :-(
