Question LS600hL Headlights vs LS460 Headlights

With all the brouhaha being made about the LS600hL's LED headlights - and let's admit it, they have captivated us up till now - something is amiss. The LS460's own headlights are endowed with those wonderful Baccarat-like lead crystal surrounds, and now that the LED's shine has worn off a bit, I think the 460's headlights are bolder, more dramatic, and make a powerful statement for this car - distinctive qualities that, at this level anyway, their peers are wont to emulate. There will be lots of imitators in the coming years on the LED front, but I doubt if any have until now, spent as much time creating something as beautiful as those chandelier quality peepers. Anybody agree?

I'll put it this way, the LS 600h L headlights are a technological wonder, a first-in-the-world deal. Their clear LED beams are nice, use less energy, etc.

I love the design of the LS 460/460L/600hL headlamp housing, the appearance reminds me of a 'display case' -- and the integrated headlamp washers are sophisticated, like finely made jewelry or a watch.

But yes, the LS 460/460 L headlamps are very beautiful as well and do have that reflective crystal design inside, inspired by Baccarat tumblers. As the 'original' headlamp design, they stand out brilliantly as well.

i like the 460 headlights, but i have to say i love the 600hl headlights more. not just the fact it is led (it's just another way of lighting), but it's the 3 projectors plus the bottom reflector, the way it lights up the road, the way it lines up as a line across. it just looks meaner imho

That's why he's excited enough to start a thread telling everyone that LS600h in Hong Kong does not have the LED's, which may imply it's possible to swap LS460 headlights for the LED's of the 600hL .

I like the headlights of both the 460 & 600, but I do prefer the look of the LED's more.

Probably at night that's when you can really tell them apart well.
