Default Setting automatic lock and unlock features

Hi guys, I'm having difficulty setting the automatic lock features on my 2006 RX400h. I've read the manual numerous times, but I am just not getting it. Right now by default, it is set so that moving the gear shift to park automatically unlocks the doors, and setting it in drive automatically locks the doors.

I'm trying to set it so that it automatically locks at 20 km/hr, and never automatically unlocks. But I've gone through all the steps in the manual, and it just isn't working I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I think this is an LPS (Lexus Personal Settings, or something like that) adjustment that requires you to go into Lexus service and they can make a variety of adjustments such as this one. Not sure if this applies also in Canada but that's how these kind of adjustments are made in the US. I just took ours in earlier this week and selected the changes we wanted made and then they do it for you. No charge for the first LPS visit.

It is in the manual as a user setting:
To select the locking linked with the vehicle speed:
1. Close all doors and turn the ignition switch to the “ON”
position.
2. Shift the selector lever from “P” to the ”N” position.
3. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the “ON”
position, press and hold the driver’s side power door lock
switch in the lock position for 5 seconds and then release.
The doors will be locked and unlocked to indicate that the
function is set.
To cancel the function, do the above operation again

I've never tried it, but perhaps someone has.

Well, I tried that from the manual, but I didn't have any luck with it. Just wondering if any of you guys tried it as well.

Ok, so I finally gave up and went to the dealership where they set it for me. I asked them whether it was designed so that the user could change the settings since it is in the manual, or did that have to be done at the dealership? She was somewhat evasive and said that it was easier for them to do. But anyways, it didn't cost me anything and it works fine now.

i've done it on all our cars and it is tricky but works. the tricky part is the timing. you literally have to count 1-one thousand, 2-one thousand, etc. the first time i did it, it took about 4-5 tries before the thing registered.
