I don't care for it either. Looks to much like the RX300 wheel. Also, those crevices in each spoke will make great dirt collectors that you have to use a toothbrush to keep clean.

No thanks.

I called yesterday to get my deposit back on the RH400h. It doesn't make sense financially, and I dislike this transmission a lot regarding the hesitation. My dealer says it's actually a computer coding problem as it is having difficulty deciding whether you are stopping or not during the rolling stops. It annoys me greatly. I also called my dealer regarding the 15k mile service, and they want 429.00 for that. BS.

BMW covers all oil changes and maintenance up to 4 years or 50k miles. Also, BMW has their learning transmission perfected. I am seriously considering going to an X5 4.4.

The transmission on the RX400 is completely different than the 330. The 400 has no gears as I recall. It's like a torque converter. You will not have delays in this transmission. In fact the power curve on the RXis supposed to be smoother than anything yet in existence.

BTW, I agree with you on the 330, I found its transmission to be horrible.

Yes, its a variable transmission as I understand it.

I don't understand what "since 1 gallon if for $1.1 " means.

I think what he meant was that it is $1.10 per gallon for gas in his country.

Will the RX400 have the air suspension and level control? Will it have the dynamic cruise control? Will it have navigation system w/integrated bluetooth ?

Thanks,

I don't remember seeing a full feature/specification list.

That will depend on the options of the car, just like it does now. Depending on what package you get, determines what options are available. For example, mine has the Mark Levinson package, which you cannot get the suspension level control nor the dynamic cruise control option. I think they are available with the performance package. I don't really remember. Best bet would be discuss what is available with the dealer. You should be able to get a brochure from the dealer too that explains what options are available with each package.

Thanks. I just wondered if it would be available with ANY package, option combination. I wasn't positive it was available at all in the hybrid. And I never remember a statement from Lexus saying every feature in the 330 will be in the 400.

I guess I realize there are different packages -lol

Lexus Delays Hybrid

"The Lexus RX 400h hybrid luxury crossover is delayed. Toyota is spinning it as a capacity issue, increasing Prius production, and saying it doesn't want to launch the 400h until it has sufficient production at its assembly plant and at hybrid battery maker Panasonic."

BTW. I don't believe this. While I do believe this explanation is not out of the question, I don't believe it is the likely reason.

Lexus could easily release what they have and grow production as and when they get materials and parts. Lexus has known for sometime they would release this vehicle and I hardly believe batteries are the delay. They would have easily placed the order from Panasonic 12 months ago or even beyond. I believe Lexus may have stumbled into a few techical issues which has caused this slight delay in the release (6 months is slight when producing a new technology).

I believe Lexus wants to ensure perfection before releasing this product. Not like the days of Microsoft releasing Windows 3.0 and customers having no real choice. If there were problems the press would eat it up and it would damage potential sales for at least 2 years.

I have a deposit down on the first RX400 coming into that dealership. They have already called me and asked how I want it configured. But my problem is they discontinued the color that we wanted this time. My wife wanted the Breakwater Blue, but they discontinued it. They also have disconinued Black Forest Pearl and Neptune Blue. None of those 3 three colors will be available for 2006. They are supposed to learn more about this during the November meeting.

RickC
Breakwater Blue has been discontinued, but Neptune Blue has not. Not sure about about Black Forest Pearl, as this colour was never available for the Canadian market.
