I concur 100%. The Torklift hitch may appear to be costly but, it is superior to the others in every way. It's stainless steel (but, is painted black) easy to install and has the removable receiver for a more stealth look. Had there been one available for my wife's NX450h+, I would bought that one as well.

the kick sensor had to moved? Can you elaborate as I researched this Hitch and didn’t know this as I am considering.

The hitch is a breeze to install and the converter is fairly easy but, it is a little time consuming, as there are panels and items that must be removed during installation to gain access to the plug and mounting area in the right rear cargo area.
I am going to buy EcoHitch from Torklift. Are you able to share details installing this? Buy certain tools or ramps to have more rear lift to do this? I’m not sure I could find any videos installing this. Any feedback or video links would be great! Thank you.

It's mounted up under the car so it's not visible.

trying to understand the hitch world but if I’m installing the hitch only to buy a bike rack for this hitch I don’t need these two additional items do I? Sorry for this noobie question.

I had the Ecohitch installed for a bike rack. It cost me a little bit but it was worth it to not have to buy anything extra and any brain damage I would have had from worrying that I was doing it correctly. I'm pretty handy, but just didn't want to deal with the installation. The sensor works perfectly for the tailgate and I'm happy with everything.

Good to know. Just trying to see if I can do this or if I’m just better off having this professionally installed.

If you are able to use a socket wrench, or box wrench, you will be fine. Installation is quite easy. I did mine by myself but, I have a rolling floor jack and used that to hold it in place while I started the bolts. It would most likely be a bit easier if you had a helper/second set of hands to hold things up during assembly. There is absolutely no need to reposition the kick sensor after the install, as it works just fine, just as it did prior to the hitch being there. You do have to remove it temporarily during the process. It is a bit of a tight fit but, having looked at other hitches, it is by far the best one out there, despite the higher cost. It is stainless steel and that, in itself, is a big plus, especially if you live in a place where you have municipalities throwing calcium chloride on the streets during the Winter.

One other tip......If you think that you will ever want to use the hitch to tow a trailer at some point in the future, you may want to add the final wiring pigtail prior to the hitch, as once the hitch is in place it is almost impossible to reach the plug-in connection that will soon be above the hitch crossbar. It's not costly and it will save you time and energy in the future.

thanks so much! I don’t have jacks to raise car which I would have to buy. I would also be doing this solo. I’m on the fence doing it myself or not.

as to your other comment I won’t be towing any boats or small jet skis. Just bike racks.

wish there were more videos to see the install for the RX. Haha

thanks!

I did not jack up the car, nor put in on jack stands. It was not necessary. I only used the rolling floor jack to support the hitch since I was working alone.
