Tell your dealer that Lexus advertizes a Towing Capacity kg (lbs.)* 1585 (3494). As for dealers in Canada, there are a few like The Hitch Shop (south location) in Calgary.

Do you have a recovery tow hook attachment point under the rear bumper on the passenger side? Not sure if that is a Canadian addition to the vehicle - but from what I can tell - the tow hook attachment point would have to be removed (and left off) for the hitch to fit. I guess in the worst case, if you needed to get pulled out of the ditch or a snow bank, you could just use the hitch to attach a tow strap...

Great info in this thread. I own a 2023 RX350 Luxury AWD and recently tried to have an aftermarket hitch installed locally, but every shop refused to touch it. Their concern was the rear kick sensor, warning that it would likely stop working after installation.

I like the EcoHitch X6062S Stealth hitch. I spoke with a tech at Torklift and he claims the kick sensor works after installation. Regarding the wiring harness, I prefer to have a detachable cable. Is that what the OEM converter PN# PT725-48232 brings to the table? If so, does it come with the trailer harness? Can the harness be unplugged (detached) when not using the hitch?

When I installed the EcoHitch, I had also previously purchased the tow converter online from a Lexus dealer website, at a discounted cost. I then added the final harness, which I purchased on Amazon (Curt 56083). You could detach it, if you wish. I simply added a metal mounting tab for it and leave in on the vehicle. It's mounted up under the car so it's not visible.

Thank you for the reply @StefanoS . Does you or anyone have a picture of the converter that clearly shows the connections. An installation (wiring) diagram would also be helpful.

Lexus converter is PT725-48232 with white multi-terminal plug

If it's not too much trouble, can you post a picture from the opposite side? The black connector w/ green wire looks like it goes to the trailer hitch? Where does the other side of the harness attach? Is it detachable?

Thank you for doing this. Hopefully others will benefit...

Oh, nice job on the electrical connector. It looks factory installed.

The other end of the Curt harness is simply a generic flat 4-pin trailer plug.
The grey plug that you see connects to the harness behind the rear bumper on the right rear side, after you remove the grey protective cap. Crawl under your rear bumper and look up under there and you will see it.

Here's another Club Lexus thread that has pictures of the converter installation (about half-way down). It answered all of my questions.

Can I add a 4-way or 7-way tow harness to my vehicle - Page 4 - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

Thanks again.

Default Would like to sell one - unused

I purchased one for a 2023 RX350h. Never put it on, brand new. Purchased 2024 RX450h+ with a hitch so need to sell the CURT. No hits on my sell attempts so far.

Which one did you

i just put one on a 2025 350H

very easy - 45 minutes

CURT 13579 about $260 US

if you search Lexus RX trailer hitch installation you’ll find several videos that are good

here is the one I used

2024 and 2025 are version 5 RX so the instructions are the same

Hi All... I have the same problem and am in a little bit of a panic - I bought a 2024 RX450H+ and tried to get a hitch just for a bike rack and was told there are NO 2" hitches that will work (by the dealer). My only option is the activity mount that may or may not work with 2 e-bikes and the rack - total about 150 lbs. This make my new car useless. But it seems like you have found hitches that work. My car is the luxury package with panoramic sunroof. The other issue I have is the dealer told me NO roof rack because the top of the car is not stable enough. I want to put a cartop carrier on, which would not carry much weight, for when we leave for the summer. It would just carry extra light-weight stuff that won't fit in the car. Does anyone have thoughts about what I can and cannot do? Thanks!!!!

In addition to the awesome (IME) Torklift EcoHitch I mentioned in your other thread on this subject, both Draw-tite and Curt make 2" hitches for your vehicle. Your dealer is full of it. Your vehicle has four holes in the undercarriage for mounting a hitch. From several brands.

THANK YOU for your info. I just called a Torklift dealer in my area and he corroborated what you said. I have an EcoHitch ordered! You saved my bacon. IDK why dealers are so clueless. They could get a lot more business. but whatever.

You are welcome. I can't speak to dealers' cluelessness, but I doubt they would be allowed to sell a Torklift hitch over their much lower quality/functionality OEM Lexus hitch. BTW, my Ecohitch cost me less than the 2" OEM Lexus hitch and is far, far superior to Lexus'.
