Australian towing package (!?!?!)
Could anyone please explain to me the situation for Australian RX450h's and the towing package? I am getting ** mixxed messages ** and its driving me nuts!
Do all Australian RX have the cooling features? Or only some? Ive been told that it has not been a build option, but that many (not all) can tow. Maybe Lexus decided that Aussies would need the cooling features as standard?
The towing package is such a pain in the ***! I want it. I want to tow smallish things. But some tow ***** are after-market and some cars with with the towing package dont have tow *****. It takes a bloody detective to work out which cars have it and which dont! Its so frustrating!
Thanks for any help!

In the US the tow package did not include a hitch. Just the extra engine and transmission cooling and wiring for the hitch.
A visual inspection can determine if you have the extra engine and transmission cooling.
The video linked here shows the engine oil cooler lines. The video is actually showing how to replace the original rubber ones with the better metal ones.
Anyway, if you lay on the ground with your head under the front bumper area and look up at the engine by the oil filter you can see the oil cooler lines, if the vehicle has them.
The second place to look is inside the left (in Australia the passenger side) front wheel fender liner. At the front toward the bumper there should be slots for ventilation & cooling of the transmission fluid supplemental cooler. If one shines a light through the vents, the cooler should be visible.

I didnt realize i posted this under hybrid tech, Ill repost it in the main forum.
I understand how to work out if the car has the towing package, if youre with the car irl, what im trying to work out is the Australian imports. Ive been told that buyers (new) were not offered the towing package option, but that the f sport and sports lux can still tow (but not the basic lux). This suggests that for us it was standard on those models (maybe because hot county).
