When I build an RX350H on the Lexus website, it allows me to add a packages such as "Kick Sensor with Tow Package" for $870. If I go elsewhere on their site, it specifies the "3500lb towing capability" as a $150 Option. I presume that the "Kick Sensor with Tow Package" is actually the towing capability and a kick sensor that is compatible with the tow hitch. I make this presumption because the Tow Hitch Receiver is listed at a cost of $980 alone. I have looked at inventory (on-line) at many dealerships in my area (and in other states) and have found the "Kick Sensor with Tow Package" on a few Luxury Models. Does any KNOW what the "3500lb towing capability" includes?
Based on the info below, the 3,500 lb capability comes with the Kick Sensor with Tow Package
I'd assume that the 3,500 lb capacity option is strictly the equipment to provide that capability, and not a hitch or hitch compatible tow sensor. I'm guessing that the 3,500 lb capacity option is a heavy-duty cooling system. According to Lexus of Seattle, that means a heavy-duty radiator and cooling fan, along with engine and transmission oil coolers.
