Very confused about profiles and picking up car tomorrow. This is our scenario and appreciate any help in advance so we get set up correctly. The car is in my name but my husband will actually drive the car more than I handle all the tech, services, updates, etc. We are only getting one fob right now but we are getting the digital key if that matters. If I am set-up as the primary driver in the app but the fob is set-up for him, will that be best option? I need to be the one who can access vehicle status, any alerts, location, etc in the app but he needs more of the driver options. I have iPhone and he has Android. I will drive this car infrequently. We will get a 2nd fob at some point in the future. Can we do this so I can have the access I need and he can do all operations with fob and the car will know his settings with the fob. I have watched a few videos, read some posts but am still confused. Thanks in advance and excited about our new NX, We are coming from a 2016 Outback and have not had a Lexus in 20 years.

First off, don't worry about feeling confused, I think a lot of people even after some time as owners are still confused by the profile setup and struggle getting it to work well. So depending on how keen you are to try to fully embrace what Lexus is offering vs just trying to do what is needed, the first decision perhaps is just how much you'll use the app features and your tolerance for complexity, there is definite benefit in keeping things as simple too.
As an "infrequent driver", you need to consider if its even worthwhile bothering to create a separate driver profile for yourself. My wife is an infrequent driver too, she had zero interest in any of this so even though she has her own fob we didn't bother to link fobs to specific profiles (this is optional feature), she just uses my profile and is perfectly happy. Certainly for cars that are heavily used by multiple drivers where each driver has vastly different setting choices, its a cool feature to have those settings follow you into the car but its not always as straight forward sometimes as would be wished for. You mention the digital key option, the next question is are you planning on depending on it. Many owners have had issues getting it to work reliably and has been source of much frustration, and for others it has worked well enough. I think you'll find within the user community some people simply don't trust it, it seems 50/50 on this topic. The simple safe approach, can you just share the one fob if that's all you get at the outset? Certainly doesn't hurt to get it setup though to try but you have the cautionary comment to consider.
The main daily benefits of the app are the remote start feature, and getting notified if the car is left unlocked or windows, etc. are left open, and where did I park my car feature. This is mainly a benefit to the driver, so if this isn't you too often, do you need or really care about any of this? The other options like maintenance alerts and such occur so very infrequently you might also not care, maybe if hubby is doing most of the driving, he can pay attention to these too.
The vehicle delivery team should hopefully walk the both of you through initial setup. but to summarize I think most important thing is to ask yourself what it is you really need and decide if you want to embrace all that is possible with the somewhat complex profile settings vs try to stay as simple as possible for less (potential) grief. Then work with the delivery specialist to try to achieve what's right for you, whether that's using all the profile features possible or equally as valid, not.

Was not aware digital key was so iffy so most likely will use fob and for indefinite time we will only have one fob. With our Outback I used the app but my husband never did and he was primary driver but I was primary for keeping track of the car.
Question - if I download the app on my iPhone and he has app on his Galaxy, can we use same log-in and password for the app and basically have one profile which may solve our issue.
Does it matter that I am the legal owner of the car if he is the primary in the app?
Agree with Droid13. There is really little or no difference anything about the car in terms of my preferences of driver seat position, etc. between me or my wife so we did not really bother with the profile stuff. This was especially true since my understanding is that the profile is recognized according to the key fob and we still only have the one fob (and the key card) and will probably look into the profile thing more (maybe) once we get the second fob.
Can we have the app on an iPhone and an android phone and use the same log-in so we both have access to the app functions?
We have one key fob will use) and one wallet key.
We set up 2 memory savings for seats etc #1 for my husband and #2 for me.
How do we get the car to recognize him when he gets in the car so the seat adjust for him.
Can we get the fob to know it's him?
Really annoyed you cant; have 2 profiles.
Thanks.
