Just a quick note.
When I got my my first SUV, I was concerned about overhead clearance, when opening the rear door of the SUV, in the garage.
Then I got the idea of backing into the garage!
Now there is no overhead restriction at all, because all of the door hardware is a the front of the garage!

 

The door opening height is adjustable. We have ours set to only open as high as needed for it to clear my head.

 

Good point. In your case, nothing to gain by opening higher.

 

Adjusting the opening height was one of the first 'customization' settings we did after taking our '23 home.

An added benefit is that, if the tailgate ever needs to be closed manually, my wife can reach it!
