Does anyone actually know the algorithim used to compute DTE and how often it is updated? I ask this because when I am traveling and my tank show near 1/4 I start to watch DTE as I plan my next fuel stop. I may even start to drive more conservatively. When slowing down, I have seen my DTE actually increase as I was driving. Seeing that I just assumed that it took some level of "most recent" fuel useage and used that to calculate DTE. What I don't recall is at what ftrequency the value updates.
The DTE changes depending on you last milage history from what I see. I am averaging 38-39 MPG and see around 450 DTE on my 350h.

We only have 1,600km (1,000 miles) on our new 500h, so far so good but it seems most have had issues a little further down the road. Fingers crossed over here.

I will say that we have been getting very good gas mileage to start (8.6 l/100km or 27 mpg), no crazy driving (but definitely using the power that comes with the 500h), and a good mix of city and highway so far.

The only weird thing I would say is that the distance to empty seems very wrong (as noted by others in this forum). The first time I filled up I only got 40 liters (11 gallons) in vs the 65 liter tank size. The second time I filled up I went right to 0 km left and I still only got 44 liters in.

Still loving it, and ready to take it on a road trip!

Had a new record today, my distance to empty was 580 miles but did not take the image till I got home. Still averaging 38-40 MPG indicated.

Very impressive that any vehicle that weight can squeeze that many miles out of a gallon of gas

‘Are you sure you are actually filling the tank up? When I fill up the gas pump constantly kicks off and I have to pump very s l o w to get the last 2-4 gallons in the tank. There is something wrong with my RX fuel input, not sure what.

can’t say … except for rounding off so i don’t get pennie’s i don’t keep trying to fill it once it stops ….if that’s the case then there is a design flaw if it is cutting off prematurely.

plus it reads full …

I have no doubt there is a design flaw on mine. Something seems to be restricting the flow of gas from the pump to the gas tank! I can never, squeeze the handle for the fastest flow without it immediately kicking off!

squeezing the handle is no problem for me .

the fast flow does not cut off … i once had a similar problem with my bmw …i had to trickle gas in or it would stop …bmw never solved it and i sold it .

but now the question becomes how do you know when over filling if you try for the extra 2 gallons

I can not tell you about your vehicle, I can only explain how mine is. Unless I pump very slowly the pump may kick off when it is far from full. I can pump about half full speed until the pump kicks off immediately over and over again. At that point I have to pump as slow as possible to get the last 3-4 gallons in.

There is something restricting flow in mine.

i went for an extra gallon yesterday after the pump shut off ..not sure how much more it could have gone. but not being able to utilize all the tank space is crazy without trying to force more in and risking over filling
