Default Warranty just about up!

Great car but the extended warranty I bought offered through USAA is up in about 3300 miles. I'm here at Lexus doing a safety recall and my 90k service is due in about 2500 miles or so. Lexus is quoting me $866 for the service but I've always gone to Toyota for my routine maintenance because it's much much closer to me than the Lexus in Nashville. Wonder if Toyota will do it for a little cheaper? I just had an oil change done there like 2 weeks ago, less than 200 miles ago and Lexus is saying they'll do all that over again including tire rotation that i had done also. I don't think so, and charging a few dollars to adjust the floor mats!! Current mileage is about 87,500 and I do use the synthetic oil.

$866 for what ???

I think 90K is the time for the first brake fluid change which you might want the dealer to do with the dealer computer.

I'd say get a price on the brake fluid change alone at the dealer, buy the other stuff like the air filters at Pep Boys, save the receipts, and save yourself some cash. That is because you just did an oil change.

Also at 90K, they recommend the smart key battery to be changed also.

My Lexus dealer will charge me for services done, so for example if I just had the tires rotated (or they are new) then they don't charge me that part of the service. did you ask them what they would charge without those services?

Ask the Toyota dealer. The engine and hybrid system is the same as the Camry. The rest is from the Toyota parts bin, such as the rear suspension is the same as the RAV4. They can easily handle this. Ask what fluids are changed. I would get the brake fluld and ATF changed and if it calls for the hybrid system coolant to be changed, do that too. I am sure they check the brakes, suspension, steering, hybrid system, electrical system etc.
