Hello,
I have a 2010 hs250h. When I turn on the ac/heater, there is a loud rattle from behind the glove box. I checked the fan motor and it seems ok. Any suggestions? I also checked the recirculating function and it is ok.

Did you check the area where the cabin filter slides in? Maybe something came loose or a rodent got in there tried to make a nest. The debris could be hitting the fan when it rotates.

Open up the cabin air filter area and try to vacuum it out. Access instructions are in the manual or Youtube, just use the search term Lexus, not HS250h, as they are all the same. I agree it may be leaves in the fan motor. I have seen this on other cars. or maybe the filter cover got loose. Some of the similar threads listed below may provide help.
