are you driving in ECO mode on full time basis?

I am curious if most people drive in ECO mode to achieve 34 or higher - is it possible to achieve 34 or higher in other setting as well?

I had the car for almost three weeks so far I gotten use to ECO mode. I am averaging 34.4 I am sure i will test it out and play with other settings on my new fill up. I was just wondering if most people eventually settle with ECO Mode or any other Mode after having the car for long time...

 

I do. I drove several months in both modes and found that ECO gets me about 1 mpg better (~35 in normal, 36 in ECO measured by gas used and odometer). So the difference isn't huge at least for me. I'm fine with the reduced gas pedal sensitivity and reduced AC output; it still seems to give me full power whenever I need to floor it so I don't feel like I'm giving anything up.

I also tried driving in power mode but that mode won't persist after each start, and I got tired of having to switch to it each time I started the car.

 

I do too. And I average over 41 mpg here in Western PA.

I use Eco mode so much that when I put it into Normal mode, it seems like a whole new car to me. But that soon wears away and I wonder how much extra gas I use with all the new found "power", so I usually switch back to ECO.

I don't mind the reduced pedal sensitivity, in fact, it make it much easier to keep it in that sweet spot, right in the first green band on the hybrid meter and run on battery alone.

And if you want another mileage boost, take your air conditioning and your heat out of the "Auto" mode. The engine never seems to shut down in either heat or A/C as long as it's in "Auto". Take it out of auto, adjust the fan speed, and the vents and the temperature and the engine will shut right down.

Also go into the settings and turn off "Auto A/C mode". That way every time you need your A/C, or go into "Auto" mode, you have to manually turn on the A/C compressor to get cold air.
