Hi all,

Quick question. On the nav screen, my battery level never gets "full". The highest level I see is just one bar shy of full. Anyone else see the same?

The only time I have seen it full is after coasting down a long mountain pass. Otherwise the best I can do is fill all but one.

 

It does go to full charge but very rare
Something to do with the logic built into charging module.

 

Even though the meter might show all bars and a "full" charge, the battery isn't 100% full.

The trick to longevity in a Nickle Metal Hydride battery is to never charge it fully, or never let it discharge fully. It bounces around somewhere in between at all times. If it didn't, the main battery would only last a short time, instead of the life of the car as it should last.

 

I actually managed to completely (well, as complete as the car would allow) the battery in a mountain pass.
I was using charge braking and the car finally had enough and my braking suddenly released and I was accelerating again down the slope.
As soon as I reached the bottom, boy did the car want to help me up the other side with battery power, the eco-power meter swung to the top, full power.

So yes, you can fully charge the battery, it just takes alot of work. (and a nearby mountain)
