Replace reversing camera
The new high-resolution screen on the android unit I’ve installed in my son’s car is really showing up how cloudy the reversing camera is (the front camera is fine). It looks like new OEM replacements are not cheap - several hundred US$. There are third party replacements that are a bit cheaper.

A search on Aliexpress doesn’t bring up any cameras for the HS250h, but it does bring up one for the 2011 Toyota Hilux that appears to have exactly the same 4 pin connector as the HS250h:https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqDHMh5
I wonder if this camera could be made to fit the housing on the HS250h?
Does anyone have any experience with replacing these cameras? Any suggestions?

I really wouldn't bother trying to adapt the housing of the wrong part to make it watertight.
What worries me about the aftermarket camera you've referenced on EBay is, the product description doesn't say anything about the camera having greater resolution or dynamic range as the stock camera.
Have you tried just scrubbing the lens with a damp microfiber cloth? Maybe it's just dirty?
If you find that the lens is scored/scratched and that's the cause of the poor image quality, then try the $85 EBay item. It's probably identical circuitry to the original.
If you are absolutely sure you intend to get a reverse camera with better image quality than the original, then I'd start with the video input specifications for your new console video screen. Just bypass all the Toyota wiring, install the 3rd party camera somewhere suitable and wire it directly to the reverse video input on the Android device. What I'd expect with this however, is the parking guidance lines aren't going to line up correctly with the image.
