Is this a production vehicle ? Are they using it for test drives / show vehicle ?

 

There's a Youtube video showing the 1st GX550 being built, I believe they started on 12/1. The one at Longo Lexus is most likely just a show/prototype vehicle making the rounds. I would think that since they have actually started building the '24's they should hopefully start hitting dealerships within a month or so, since they are being built in Japan.

 

Longo’s demo has a production VIN but still could be preproduction

 

Do we know how long it will be on display?

@ the Lexus Experience showroom in Newport Beach Fashion Island.

Build quality is great. I pressed on everything in the car and nothing squeaks.

Got to test the Mark Levinson 21 speaker sound system and it's AWESOME. Seats are very comfortable.

The massage seats are actually impressive. It's not a gimmick it, actually does a good job.

The sand color looks really nice in person, would be interested in seeing it under the sun, along with Nori Green.

Has a full size spare and the trunk is roomy. Backseat is roomy as well (I'm 6'0)

Lexus needs to move that showroom next to Lucid.

 

Lexus has a display just inside the main entrance. Several vehicles. But I did finally see and sit in an overtrail

haven’t had a chance to watch it in full, but I’m surprised that a relatively minor channel was out first with a ‘review’.

another interesting bit of information is that they said the “driving impressions are coming February 1st” which may signal that there is an embargo until then and that some reviewers are already driving the cars.

it will be interesting to see when the Luxury reviews drop. I believe Lexus is trying hard to position this as a truly Offroad vehicle first, hence why nearly everything has been talking about their new Overtrail trims. Things have been pretty hush when it comes to on-road performance.
