Skid plates / Sliders

I threw on my front BB skid today. It co-exists with the factory cover over the AT pan. A small gap but things are still protected. On the oil access panel the front left screw is shorter than the rest. This is because it would contact the front stabilizer bar. Seem to be 5/32 hex

Skid plates / Sliders
I will never take our GXs off road.
when doing maintenance, those two heavy a$$ plates are a royal PITA to remove and replace.
Does anyone make plastic ones or something lighter ?
thank you

Budbuilt is getting closer to general release. I have prototype skids on mine that cover all the way back over transfer case. I also have a full length BB skid over the gas tank. Access door on the front to change oil filter and drain hole with a Fumoto drain valve on rear. Load bearing & tested oil filter access door.

Really no comparison to stock for convenience.
The oil drain just a twist of the valve to drain

The oil filter access is just a small panel held in with 5/32 hex screws that one could easily hold in their hand. No removal of any plastics either for the oil filter.

I am getting a revised prototype mid-skid from Budbuilt.
I'll post pictures when I receive it. One issue I did have with original was oil drain alignment with Fumoto valve wasn't optimal.
If change(s) look good I imagine they will officially go live with general sales.

Are you happy with the oil filter access panel on the front skid? I've been waiting for bud built to release the final product so I can order one.

Definitely happy with it. Oil filter access is trivially easier instead of having to drop that entire front skid.

They are also using different gear to retain the crossmember brace. They call them lollipops. :-) I plan to mount this replacement up when I change oil & filter this next weekend.
