The wheels still have plastic protection on them (hard to see on some of the pics, but look again), and that's probably one of the last steps in the new car prep process - taking that off and installing the center caps. My LX rolled off the truck exactly the same way - no center caps.

Here is how the GX460 Remote start works: Be not farther than 50' from the vehicle and press the lock button on your keyfob twice then, press and hold the lock button again for 3 seconds.
The vehicle will start and run for 10 minutes and it will remain locked. If you unlock the vehicle by any method, the engine will shut off.
My previous vehicle, an Infinity QX4 had a remote start installed by Best Buy and worked this way: Be not farther than 500' from the vehicle and press the start button on the separate key fob. The engine would start and remain running for 15 minutes and the vehicle would remain locked. Upon entering the vehicle, the engine would remain running unless the brake was depressed or the transmission lever was moved. I had to insert the key and turn to "on" but, not enough to "restart" the engine.
I thought the QX4 system was better however, it did not have pushbutton start.

Thanks for the explanation although I fail to see the value proposition for remote start. There must be one as it is an offered option on the GX 460 although the details of how it works seems less compelling than how it is implemented on other vehicles. In particular, why bother remotely starting a vehicle if the engine will stall as soon as a door is opened? Wouldn't it be better to open the door, then start the engine once rather than having to restart?
