Default 2010 GX Rust

Looking for some help figuring out how to best manage the rust on my 2010 GX 460. It has 125k miles (200k KM) and has spent its life in Ontario Canada, where there are harsh winters and salted roads. The truck is in really great condition but the underbody is quite rusted. I can’t find anywhere that it is actually rotted through, but the surface rust is quite extensive along the frame rails and axles. The front and gas tank skids are the worst, but I’m not too worried about those. I have had Krown rust control applied and will plan to have it re-applied annually.

Is there anything else I should think about doing to repair or prevent future rust? I don’t have a garage so will be difficult to get under with a wire wheel, but could try to get a shop to do it if that’s recommended.

Ideas I have considered:
- Leave as is and continue to have Krown rust control applied annually
- Get under there and spray the worst parts with frame paint or POR15
- Pay a shop to go at it with a wire wheel then coat with frame paint or POR15
- Replace skids with aftermarket (e.g., CB, RCI)
- Sell the truck before it gets worse

What would you do?

Doesn’t look bad for a 12 year old Northern vehicle. My 2014 looks pretty much the same as yours. My skids were bad but I lucked out. I purchased a set of takeoffs wheels from an awesome user which just so happened to be swapping out his skid plates for the ARE ones and gave me his brand new ones fore free. All of the other rust is just surface rust and not actual corroding rust. At some point in its life mine had some sort of grease applied to the undercarriage and it’s now just a sticky mess attracting dirt and probably doing more bad than good. Since I plan on owning her for a long time in the spring I’ll probably have the undercarriage steamed and coated but I blew my mod budget for the year already!
