Default Bird chirping sound or squeeze

Hi all, I have a 2014 gx. I recently hear a bird chirping sound or squeeze when the car runs on a light bumpy road(or a little vibration). I want to see if anyone wants experience the similar issue. I don’t even know where the sound is coming from since it’s light. If it hit some serious bumpy road, it doesn’t have the sound. Strange. Mine has only 20k miles. Local mechanic says it should not have any issue since the mileage is so low. Appreciate any help. The sound can be annoying. Thanks!

How much off road do you do? 20K is a lot of miles if it lives a good portion of its life off highway. I would get the wheels off the ground and start checking the bushings, bearings, tie rods, hubs, and all moving chassis components.

The low mileage with no off-roading pretty much rules out suspension parts. I would first look inside the truck and see if it may be coming from some loose items in the pockets, glove compartment, trunk etc.. Next, try to do a thorough undercarriage wash and make sure no dirt or rocks cause some rubbing somewhere. I would also check and make sure no rock(s) are stuck between the rotor and the protective wheel plate (this happened to us). If it is still there you need to start checking individual components as Ballistice suggested.

Try spraying the rear hatch door's latch and guides with WD40, that's where I eventually tracked my "chirp" noise to. If that's the source, there's a product you can buy for cheap that fixes it.

Thanks for the inputs. I will try spraying wd40 on the rear hatch. What product are you referring to fox the issue?

Amazon Amazon

Looks simple/cheesy, but completely resolved my noisy latches issue on my wife's '15 GX460.

Rear door latch, back seat strikers/latch, check tool kit in rear door and wedge foam in there as needed.

I replaced the rear latch today. The sound is still there. Wd40 on all the moving components of the trunk door. Maybe the sound is coming from the front. It’s hard to differentiate since the sound is so low. Checked the rear seats as well. I wd40 the hood latch as well. Hopefully it’s nothing. Don’t want to go to dealer again!

Back to basics, have you emptied Every console, glovebox, door pocket, nook and cranny
of Styrofoam cups, plastic straws, bank receipt folders, children's debris?

I opened and closed all the boxes. My car is pretty empty inside. Mine is equipped with air suspension. Does it have anything to do with it? The car has only 20k miles

Hi there, I bought a pre-owned 2017 GX460 top spec (full leather, air suspension, 7 seats) from Lexus Dealer with around 70,000km. Since it was new experience for me, jumping from sports car to a body-on-frame 4X4 car I couldn't focus on distinguishing sounds made by the car.

Around 2 weeks later I was driving on a road with kerbs (interlock tiles) I heard chirping sound probably the same one you're referring to.

It happens at low speed and on very small suspension movement such as driving on bumpy road at very low speed -- crawling to be specific.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with handling. Took the car offroad on sand dunes but it's all good.

Changed rear shock absorbers 2 months ago since one was leaking, but the sound is still there.

I feel it is coming from the front, maybe bushings?

Yours sounds like my issue. Keep us posted about your findings. Will post an update if I find the cause

Hey, I was moving the second row bench seat forward today and found that it produced the chirping sound. I suspected that that the cause so I kept sliding it back and forth for about 10 seconds. The chirping sound was gone during my 15 mins test drive. Hopefully it’s that easy. The chirping from the second row bench seat movement is exactly the same. Try it to see if it’s the same cause.
