Default Clock Problem

Hi Everyone,

I searched all the clock setting threads I could find, and so far haven't found someone with the same problem as I have. My system/nav clock sets itself properly in auto mode, and changing for daylight savings works properly, etc., BUT the digital display between the climate settings doesn't change. It's always off by some number of hours/minutes, and I can't find any way to change it. I reviewed the owners manual, watched youtube videos, scoured the internet and no joy so far.
I also disconnected the battery for a few mins this morning to drive a reset but still no luck. It appears the digital display still isn't pulling the time from the nav system. I've included a pic below for reference, hopefully someone can help! 2014 Ultra Premium, if that matters.
edit: I also can't manually adjust the Nav system clock. Even when I turn off the auto setting, I don't get the option to adjust that the owners manual shows.

Seems that you have a malfunction head unit as the clock and settings function are build into the unit. One thing that you might try is to refresh the system software. You will need to contact dealer for the software SD to do so.

Curios as to how critical this is to fix? Affecting other needs on the truck?

@hzhao I think you're probably right. It's going in for a service soon, so I'll mention it to them. I just want to avoid paying a Lexus tech $180/hr for something I can easily do, if possible.

@tecman it's not critical, per say. But it's *****ing annoying.

Is $180 per hour a standard now with Lexus?

That was a tongue in cheek comment. I'm in Canada though, so it's probably pretty close to that in CDN $.

If the minutes matched, then I would say there is a time-zone difference between the two ... but that is not the case. Did you try turning off Daylight Savings Time and Auto Adjust by GPS to see what happens ? Also, did this start when 3G was recently killed by the cellular carriers ?

Yes, they function properly, and the (correct) time on the screen adjusts accordingly. No matter what combination of settings I choose though, the option to manually set doesn't come up, and no setting has any effect on the lower clock next to the temperature.

I have no clue what the dealer charges per hour here but guessing easily over $100. If out of warranty, stay away from the dealer if possible. Got a shop that you trust up there?

If the truck is out off warranty. And this is the only issue with the head unit. I would forget about it. How often are you on the climate page?

If the regular clock works ok. Let it ride

Yeah I saw that; that message is actually for lower trim levels that have dedicated buttons to adjust the digital display. On ultra premium, the nav drives the setting of other clock as well (I watched a youtube video where someone changes the time zone on the nav and it propagates through to the digital clock). My owners manual confirmed this. It might be an indicator there's a software update required; something's definitely not right. I'm going to first try disconnecting the battery overnight so it truly clears the factory settings, then I'm going to pull an update from the lexus website to see if that helps at all.

The tech expert at my local dealer is also going to spend a few mins to help me troubleshoot sometime soon.

Will update if I learn anything interesting.
