Default Paint damage ? Possible fixes

Hey all,

Any idea what kind of damage this is ? PO said he has no idea, and i wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this. Smooth to the touch, and doesnt go away with a typical wash.

Any suggestions or possible ways to tackle this appreciated!

Try polishing it out if that doesn't work wet sand then polish. If that fails the hood will need a repaint. Looks a chemical burn possibly from bird droppings.

if it really is something like bird droppings what a sad way to damage the paint. If none of my attempts work, honestly might just wrap the hood.

I would get a professional opinion by a paint correction company, they may have an inexpensive repair. A DIY attempt may result in more damage,

Is that the black Onyx paint? I know wraps have come a long way.

Maybe try a clay bar? Won't damage the paint but gets a bit more imperfections out of the paint than a regular wash. It's also inexpensive so might be worth a shot.

I was going to suggest just wrapping the entire car. I have it in my mind that if I ever damage my paint, I'm just going to have the whole thing wrapped.

Cost for a full wrap would run what? $4-5K?

That's going to run me a lot of cash on a 10 year old car - if it was any newer, I would've done it to be honest.

It is the black onyx. I might do some shopping around to see what a wrap might cost me for the panel. Or I could get the completely pointless carbon fiber one with a hood scoop XD

easy to use and perfect match of paint.
I hope you can fix that ugly marks.
