Quick question: do all gen 2 came with HID from factory or was it an option?

 

HID on 2010-2013 Premium from factory. I don't think there was an option - I may be wrong though. From 14+ is LED

 

'10-'13 : Base (low/high/fog-halogen) / Optional Base (low - HID w/AFS, high & fog - halogen)

'10-'13: Premium (low - HID w/AFS, high & fog - halogen)

'14-'19 : Base (low-LED, high-halogen, no fog option)

'14-'19 : Premium/Luxury (low/fog - LED, high-halogen)

'20-'22: Base (low/high-LED) - No fog lights

'20-'22 Premium & Luxury (low/high/fog-LED)

Is there a way to tell from the VIN if it's premium or not? Not all listing say it.

The 10-13 base can optionally have AFS HIDs as well but you need to run the VIN.

Can you just buy this trim and put it on a non lux vehicle? i kind of like it but we have a premium

 

As a stock piece it is part of those rear windows and not sold separately.
