My lowers (the ones you pictured) are dry as a bone. Curious what yours look like.

I always clean these up when I am under the car, just use a rag, a brush, and some degreaser... only takes a few minutes.

If the boot's not visibly torn, it's fine. Those boots aren't hermetically sealed, a slight bit of oil/grease seeping out is no big deal.

My guess is if the repair was on your dime, they'd have no problem replacing if you really wanted. Just throwing away money though.
