Default Consumer Reports Avoid 2016

Why is that? Marked as least reliable? I want one...

While Consumer Reports can be useful reference ... specific to their comparative and measured (lab based) product testing ... the consumer ratings represent data collected from consumers, many of whom have absolutely no understanding (no clue) as to the actual root cause or severity of a "problem" ... all they know is that they "had a problem" in a specific survey category ... so while this data may be useful as an indicator, it is by no means an absolute measure and should be weighed accordingly.

Specific to automotive reviews, I completely lost interest in Consumer Reports back in the late 80's when the number and location of cup holders became central to their review emphasis. They should stick with appliances and carpeting, and leave the automotive side to those with industry specific expertise who do not allow the core fundamentals to get diluted with peripheral considerations.

2021 and people rely on Consumer Reports still? There are much better metrics these days for making purchase decisions...

What would make a 2016 any different from a 2010 - 2019, aren't they mechanically identical?

Yes, it is wise to be suspicious/skeptical of the comparisons and analysis they do including appliances BTW. Their sample sizes are extremely small and are biased.

Also when it comes to any comparison/review and dare I even say....Forum, the negatives always out way the positives. We are all so quick to leave a negative review, but many well deserved positive ones go unpublished...JMHO

Consumer reports relies pretty much solely on reported problems by the base of owners it surveys. Could be 2016 was a popular year too with overall numbers. I find their repointing unbiased.

Folks, many threads with people who like CR and those who don't (and many have gone off the rails). Let's keep this specifically on the rating of the GX please.

Discussing rating without context on the source of such rating (the data) is informative Nothing even close to approaching "off the rails" in the above posts from what I can see

I'm talking about comments like the below that turn into a huge off topic debate, not avoiding the name of the publication or the ratings.

Only thing noteworthy on 2016 would have been the introduction of Enform Remote & Service Connect

Perhaps the bad OTA update for that year made some give it a black mark on Infotainment?

https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/...s-infotainment

I no longer have a subscription to CU...

I had one for years but just started using it less and less so cancelled it last year.

If someone has access it would be this area to show whatever problem area they were highlighting.
