Default Precrash system

I have 2018 GX460 lux model. I'm changing the stock grille to a 2020 grille. They appear to come in two flavors: Crash ( 53101-60G40 ) and Pre-Crash ( 53101-60G30).

Anyone know the difference?

Roger...very helpful, do not have Multi terrain monitor but sounds very cool. I'll stay with the 53101-60G40. Thank you ACRAD!

Looks like you want G30 if you don't have the front camera

Actually, I was thinking it was a new element on the 2020, I have a larger front camera below the emblem and the two sensors in the lower grille so it seems the G40 is what I need to chase. Thank you Acrad for pointing that out.

Now the parts folks are telling me I need the G30. I don't have a 2020 so difficult to give them a VIN. I have a 2018 that has all the forward sensors and camera below the logo. Can anyone confirm the G40 is the part I need for the 2020 Grill?

I would like to do this too. I have a 2017 Luxury with Driver support so I have all the sensors, front camera, radar cruise and LDA. It also looks like the chrome is a more brushed finish and may not match what's already on the car. Has anyone done this with with all the sensors and camera.

Camera is more problematic. Since 2020+ uses complete different front camera than the ones in prior year model for Driver Support Package. Completely different dimension and shapes. You will have to do some modification on the grille to mount the current camera and re-calibrate since the physical location and angles changed for the camera. Parking sensors and milliwave radar sensor should be OK since it sit the same location behind the emblem, and parking sensors are at general same location as well.

Do you know if the new style camera would plug into the existing harness?

I don’t think so. But one thing for sure, the new one has complete different focal length, if you replace the camera, your entire view will be recalibrated (if it is still within the range). Keep in mind as new and old front view camera have complete different purposes as they have intended for.

Ok thanks always great info I guess I can purchase and see I don't think it would be difficult to resell if I can't use. I am going to stop by the dealership to see if I can see anything or take pics.
